What Is
It?
|
This is a bacterial infection caused by Neisseria
gonorrhea.

What Is
the Mode of Transmission?
|
Sexual intercourse(vaginal, anus or oral)
|

What Are
Some Symptoms?
|
In men: burning sensation during urination,
discharge, fever, painful sex. In women: pain
in pelvic area, unusual vaginal bleeding, bleeding
after sex.

What Type
of Treatment Is Available?
|
Antibiotics, such as penicillin.
|
|
What Happens
If Untreated?
|
For women, if infection reaches the fallopian
tubes, 40% risk of scarring, tubal obstruction
and loss of ability to have children.
